Ultrasonic Contact Impedance (UCI) probe digunakan untuk mengukur nilai kekerasan pada benda berukuran kecil, objek dengan dinding tipis, bentuk yang kompleks, serta untuk mengukur kekerasan lapisan permukaan yang dikeraskan (surface hardened layers).
Alat ini dilengkapi dengan built-in camera yang memungkinkan pengguna untuk mengambil foto objek pengujian dan menandai area yang diuji dengan nilai kekerasan yang sesuai. UCI Hardness Tester NOVOTEST T-U3 memiliki sealed housing dengan strip pelindung karet, sehingga sangat ideal untuk digunakan di bengkel (workshop) maupun kondisi lapangan dengan kelembapan tinggi, berdebu, dan lingkungan ekstrem lainnya.

Metode UCI untuk Pengujian Kekerasan
Metode pengukuran kekerasan UCI ini telah memenuhi standar ASTM A1038. Ultrasonic Contact Impedance (UCI) probe dirancang khusus untuk pengukuran kekerasan pada area pengujian dengan ketebalan minimal (mulai dari 1 mm), objek dengan bentuk permukaan yang kompleks, serta untuk mengukur kekerasan pada surface hardened layers.
Metode ini sangat cepat dan mudah dilakukan:
Letakkan probe pada permukaan objek yang diuji.
Tekan probe ke permukaan dengan tekanan yang diperlukan.
Simpan nilai kekerasan yang muncul pada layar perangkat.
