A compression test determines behavior of materials under crushing loads. The specimen is compressed between hardened platens and the deformation at various loads is recorded.

The flexural test measures the mechanical properties of materials when subjected to bending load. A flat rectangular specimen is loaded at 3 or 4 points. Test speed and specimen dimensions are determined by ASTM and ISO standards.

Spesification

  • Complies to EN 12390-5 flexture testing for hardened concrete

Frame

  • Rigid load frame in 4-column, C-type construction 
  • The columns are screwed free from play to the machine’s upper and lower blocks
  • Suitable for testing long sample concrete beams, kerbs, interlocking pavers, flagstones and blocks of different size.
  • All transmission surfaces are additionally plane – parallel – treated and fine machined
  • T-Sloted Lower platen marked to allow distance of rollers interval.
  • Rod type limit switch attached to piston for secure operations
  • Single-acting-Spring Return or double acting type pistons machined from the solid metal for high stability
  • At the end of the test process to start a new test the piston returns to the default position

Load measurement and control

  • Load measurement and control is carried out with a pressure sensor with a sensitivity of class 1 or better according to EN-ISO-7500-1 standard, starting from 1% of the capacity.

Hydraulic unit

  • Advanced hydraulic unit with multi-piston hydraulic pump driven by electrical motor, smooth and high flow rate, fast piston approach, with manifold and pressure limit valve, oil tank, comes with necessary joints

Control Unit and Display

  • Fully automatic flexural test machine with close-loop “Sematron Touch Series” advanced controller
  • Controller has 1000 Hz (1 kHz) data acquisition-processing and automatic calibration feature (2,5 kHz option is available)
